Magazines a thing of the past?
Over the past years the appeal of traditional skin magazines has lessened with the explosion of all kinds of adult entertainment on the internet. I mean, with videos, pictorials, and some truly kinky shit, what would a horny teenager need with the comparatively bland pages of a magazine that shows just a few models when at easy access are the thousands of models for a similar price of a monthly magazine subscription. Having grown up really before the internet really came into its own as a bastion of smut, my supply of erotica were the traditional Hustlers and Penthouses.
There was something about dangerously hiding these rags in my room away from the prying eyes of my parents and then bringing them out at night to enjoy a hot fantasy that caused my mind to reel. I wonder if such openness on the net nowadays has taken some of the mystery out of sex for the horny teenagers of today. Really, they can see whatever they want without much exception, whereas with the magazines, the content was limited to what the publishers found acceptable. There is still a part of me that yearns for the collections of old used magazines that was a staple of my adolescence and occasionally I creep into the porn stores and head back to the racks of magazines that are all alone nowadays when people stay in their homes and cruise the net instead of heading to the newsstand.
